Introduction
The construction industry is being transformed by digital technologies, with Building Information Modeling (BIM) playing a central role. BIM creates detailed 3D models that integrate architecture, structure, and engineering systems, enabling better design, analysis, and decision-making while reducing errors and inefficiencies compared to traditional 2D drawings. For projects like a 3-story home, BIM accelerates processes such as visualization, cost estimation, structural analysis, and clash detection, making construction more accurate and efficient.
The literature review highlights recent studies demonstrating BIM’s benefits: it improves structural analysis accuracy, reduces design errors and construction time, optimizes energy consumption, enhances cost estimation and scheduling, minimizes material waste, and ensures regulatory compliance. BIM tools like ETABS, Revit, Navisworks, and Tekla Structures contribute significantly to these improvements, confirming BIM as an essential technology for modern construction projects.
Conclusion
The construction industry has changed a lot with new digitaltechnologies, andBuildingInformationModelling (BIM)is leadingthis change. BIM helps create smart 3D models that combine architecture, structure, and engineering systems, making it easier to make good decisions and avoid mistakes.
