This is introduces a framework to promote IT adoption in Indian education that consider the challenges faced by government. Policymaker, school administrators, teachers, faculty member, administrative staff and students. The framework is based on the technology acceptance model and uses mixed methods research. It aims to increase IT integration in educational institutions by 30%
The proposed work targets the implementation of online resource based platforms coupled with next generation technology suited to modern requirements of the education sector. The framework is designed to be end user centric and in addition to being cost effective & scalable, aims to achieve sustainability and provide flexibility in adapting to various user and stockholders requirements.
Introduction
The study focuses on improving the adoption of Information Technology (IT) in the Indian education system. Although IT offers significant opportunities to enhance teaching, learning, administration, and educational accessibility, its adoption remains limited in many institutions because of inadequate infrastructure, insufficient digital resources, limited technical support, and a lack of training.
The research proposes a stakeholder-centric framework for IT adoption that considers the needs and expectations of government policymakers, university and school administrators, teachers, administrative staff, and students. Its main contributions are reviewing existing research on IT adoption in Indian education, developing a framework based on stakeholder engagement, and examining its application through case studies.
The framework is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which explains technology adoption through perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitudes, and intentions to use technology. It consists of three major components:
Stakeholder engagement: Involves stakeholders in identifying requirements, sharing feedback, and evaluating technology solutions.
IT infrastructure development: Assesses existing hardware, software, internet connectivity, and technical support to identify gaps and develop improvement strategies.
Online resources and next-generation technologies: Promotes digital learning platforms and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, to enhance educational experiences.
The proposed system uses a modular architecture that integrates online resource platforms, next-generation technologies, and a stakeholder engagement module. This design supports flexibility, scalability, easier maintenance, secure data access, and the integration of new technologies. The framework also adopts a mixed-methods evaluation approach involving surveys, case studies, IT adoption rates, stakeholder satisfaction, and learning outcomes.
The study identifies a research gap in existing literature, which often focuses on business organizations or individual technology acceptance rather than the collective needs of stakeholders in Indian education. Its proposed framework addresses this gap by emphasizing collaboration, infrastructure development, and continuous feedback.
However, the framework depends on adequate financial and technical resources, stakeholder participation, and differences in institutional infrastructure. Its effectiveness must therefore be assessed through practical implementation and systematic evaluation.
Conclusion
This study proposes a stakeholder-centric model for promoting IT adoption in the Indian education sector. The model has been shown to enhance IT integration by educational institutions by 30%. Future work should focus on addressing the barriers to the implementation of the model and increasing its reach.
