Effective inventory management is crucial for optimizing warehouse operations and enhancing supply chain efficiency. This study investigates the impact of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, specifically Zoho Inventory, on inventory management practices in warehouses. The research methodology involves a case study of N B Bhalchandra Akashvan, a residential construction project, and data analysis using frequencies, Pearson correlation, and Cronbach Alpha. The findings reveal that Zoho ERP streamlines warehouse inventory management by enabling real-time stock tracking, automated alerts, and reorder points. This leads to significant cost savings, reduced stockouts and overstocking, and improved operational efficiency. The user-friendly interface of the software facilitates quicker adoption by warehouse personnel, minimizing training time. The study also calculates Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) for various inventory items to optimize ordering and holding costs. The Pearson correlation analysis shows strong positive relationships between the usefulness of Zoho Inventory features and improved inventory management outcomes. The Cronbach Alpha values confirm the reliability and internal consistency of the survey responses. The conclusion highlights the effectiveness of ERP software in enhancing inventory management practices and the future scope for further research in this area. The study provides valuable insights for organizations seeking to optimize their warehouse operations and improve overall supply chain efficiency through the implementation of ERP solutions
Introduction
The traditional Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) models are simple to apply but rely on unrealistic assumptions like normally distributed, independent demand and perfect product quality. This has led to advanced inventory models that account for uncertainties and imperfect items.
The study focuses on evaluating the impact of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, specifically Zoho Inventory, on warehouse inventory management efficiency. Warehouses often struggle with stockouts, overstocking, and operational inefficiencies. ERP systems can streamline processes, but their effects and implementation challenges need thorough investigation.
Key objectives include assessing ERP's influence on inventory efficiency, identifying ERP implementation challenges and benefits, and offering optimization recommendations. The study highlights the significance of ERP in improving decision-making, reducing costs, and gaining competitive advantages.
The literature review covers inventory control strategies, including EOQ adaptations, demand forecasting, classification methods, and the integration of ERP with technologies like blockchain, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), robotic automation, and machine learning. These integrations improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
A case study at N B Bhalchandra Akashvan, a residential project in Pune, illustrates practical warehouse operations with detailed manpower allocation. Data analysis from a survey on Zoho Inventory users shows strong positive correlations between ERP features and improved inventory management. Reliability tests confirm the consistency of these findings.
Results indicate that Zoho ERP enhances warehouse operations by enabling real-time stock tracking, reducing stockouts and overstocking, automating routine tasks, and facilitating faster employee training. This leads to significant cost savings and operational improvements.
