Puneri Pravas: A Smart Tourism Guide for Exploring Famous Places in Pune

Abstract

Tourism is an essential contributor to the cultural and economic growth of cities. Pune, known as the cultural capital of Maharashtra, offers diverse attractions including historical monuments, shopping destinations, hotels, restaurants, malls, and important landmarks. However, tourists often face challenges in finding organized information and accurate navigation support. This paper presents “PuneriPravas,” a smart tourism guide developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap framework. The system provides categorized information about famous places in Pune along with direct location access using Google Maps integration. The proposed system enhances user experience through a responsive interface and structured digital tourism management..

Introduction

Pune is a fast-growing metropolitan city known for its historical, cultural, and modern attractions. Tourists often face difficulties finding organized and categorized information about places to visit. To solve this problem, a web-based tourism platform called PuneriPravas was developed.

The platform provides structured information about historical places, hotels, malls, cuisine, shopping areas, and landmarks. It is built using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript and follows a client-side architecture with three layers: user interface, logic processing, and Google Maps integration for location access.

The system allows users to select categories, view place details, and open exact locations on Google Maps. The platform improves accessibility and organization of tourism information. Future improvements may include user login, database integration, AI-based recommendations, and a mobile application.

Conclusion

The “PuneriPravas” project presents a smart and structured solution for exploring Pune city. By combining categorized tourism data with direct navigation support, the system enhances travel convenience and user experience. The platform supports historical tourism, modern shopping exploration, food discovery, and landmark identification. In future, the system can be upgraded with mobile app integration, AI-based recommendations, and multilingual support. The proposed solution contributes toward smart city development and digital tourism transformation.
