Smart Chef: Design and Implementation of an AI-Powered Kitchen Assistant System
Introduction
This text describes the Smart Chef system, a smart kitchen assistant designed to improve how users handle recipes and cooking tasks using AI and web technologies.
The core idea is that most existing smart kitchen apps only solve isolated problems (like finding recipes or making shopping lists), rather than connecting the entire cooking workflow. Smart Chef addresses this gap by integrating recipe understanding, ingredient extraction, shopping list generation, and cooking assistance into a single unified system.
The system uses a layered architecture with a web-based frontend, a backend built for service handling, an AI processing layer for natural language understanding, and cloud-based storage. Users can input recipes as text or links, and the system automatically converts them into structured ingredients and actionable shopping lists, while also providing step-by-step cooking guidance.
A key feature is its AI-powered ingredient extraction, which achieves about 94% accuracy, enabling reliable conversion of unstructured recipe text into structured data. The system also shows strong performance with an average response time of around 2.3 seconds and a user satisfaction rate of about 87%.
Conclusion
A. System Performance Metrics
This paper presented the perpetration of Smart Chef as an AI- powered kitchen adjunct system developed from the gaps linked in the earlier check study. The design demonstrates how form parsing, component birth, shopping support, and cooking guidance can be combined into a single web- grounded platform through a modular armature and AI- supported processing. The reported prototype results indicate that Smart Chef is both doable and useful as an academic engineering design with practical real- world applicability[9].
B. Relative Analysis
Relative evaluation with being kitchen adjunct operations shows Smart Chef\'s advantages:
Traditional Apps vs Smart Chef:
1) Multi-Modal Input confined vs Complete
2) Real- Time Pricing Absent vs erected- in
3) Shopping Intelligence Simple vs Sophisticated
4) Personalization Basic vs Intelligent
5) Cross-Platform Sync Weak vs Smooth
6) Offline Functionality Partial vs Comprehensive Support
