The rapid growth of e-commerce has increased the need for secure parcel delivery systems. This paper presents an IoT-based Smart Parcel Receiver using ESP32, sensors, servo motor, LCD display, and Wi-Fi communication. The system automatically detects parcels, secures them inside a locked box, and sends real-time notifications to users. The proposed system improves parcel security, reduces theft risk, and enhances delivery convenience.
Introduction
The text discusses the problem of insecure parcel delivery in e-commerce systems, where packages are often left unattended at doorsteps due to recipient absence, leading to risks like theft, loss, and damage. It highlights the lack of secure automated storage and real-time delivery notification systems in traditional delivery methods.
To solve this, the paper proposes an IoT-based Smart Parcel Receiver system that automatically receives, secures, and monitors parcels. It uses sensors to detect parcel placement, a servo-controlled locking mechanism for secure storage, and Wi-Fi communication to send real-time notifications to users, improving delivery safety and convenience.
The literature review summarizes several related IoT-based solutions, including:
Smart locker systems using microcontrollers (ESP32, etc.)
OTP and SMS-based secure access systems
Camera-based verification and monitoring systems
GSM and web-based smart delivery lockers
Authentication systems for delivery personnel
These studies show progress in improving parcel security, remote monitoring, and automated delivery handling using IoT technologies. However, they also highlight limitations such as high cost, dependency on internet connectivity, and system complexity.
Conclusion
This paper presented an IoT-based Smart Parcel Receiver system for secure and automated package delivery. The proposed system uses ESP32, load sensors, servo motor control, LCD display, and Wi-Fi communication to provide safe parcel storage and real-time user notification. The system minimizes parcel theft, improves user convenience, and supports smart home automation. The implementation demonstrates efficient performance and reliability for modern parcel delivery application.
